Video FileRyatt Burkhart riding in his Aeroshell T6 pedal plane made by his Papa Robert Bowers. He is being pushed by his Mom, Maggie. Details on the plane include Ryatt and brother Merritt’s names, their birth dates for N-Numbers, the tail numbers 6 and 7 represent the number grandchild they are for Papa Robert. Maggie has a special love of aviation passed down from her father, and that love is slowly trickling down to her boys.
1932 Chevy Coupe
Video FileOwned by Steve Miller. Original owner Harry Draper who lived 1 mile west of Steve. Harry bought it new in 1932 in Larned for $535. He drove it to the Burdett Co-op, parked and let the farmers see it. No one was buying anything new in the 30’s. Harry told them, “All you suckers spent your money in good times and I saved mine so I can make a big splash now!” It has a rare feature called ‘free-wheeling’. If you are interested in that, ask Steve at the “Shine & Show” Car Show. Also Steve and Margaret drove this car in the parade at the 100th year Burdett Celebration, 50 years ago.

We proudly remember Frances Ankrom, Bernie Daughenbaugh (pronounced Duff n baw), Roy & Vivian Borecky (pronounced Boars ski), Mabel Bettes, Joni Sue Millington, Donna Pelton, and Kathy Mostrom (pronounced Moostrum) for helping make this spot a big part of our community.
